Abstract

The Minister may enter into agreements with owners of land for forestry development purposes (sect. 2). Forestry land may also be acquired by local authorities (sect. 2.2). The Minister may establish programmes for the encouragement of forestry (sect. 3). The Lieutenant Governor in Council may, with the consent of the owner, declare private forest reserves (sect. 5). Other provisions deal with inspection of private forestry (sect. 4); establishment of nurseries (sect. 7); penalties (sect. 8) and regulation-making powers of the Lieutenant Governor in Council (sect. 9).
