This Act enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Forestry Act establishes the policy to be applied on forestry sector within the State of Minas Gerais. It consists of 36 articles and 1 annex specifying the requirements to be satisfied in order to exploit forest areas. The main objectives of this Forestry Act concern: the protection of endangered forest trees and biodiversity, the management and sustainable exploitation of forestry resources, the promotion of forestry seeds and reforestation, etc. A list of fines to be paid for illegal activity is specified in the Annex.
