Forests are recognized as being of ecological utility, and forest lands are declared to be assets of common interest to all inhabitants, without prejudice to the right of ownership. Forestry activities must be conducted in such a way so as to ensure that quality of life and ecological balance are maintained, and the genetic patrimony is preserved.
