The Regulations establish that Harvesting Plans are to be prepared for the following areas: production National Forest Reserves, production Local Authority Forest Reserves, production Village Forest Reserves, community based Forest Reserves, and forests on general land, village land except Wildlife Management Areas. Article 4 establishes the District Forest Produce Harvesting Committee with the following main tasks (i) receiving, considering, and determining applications for endorsement and issuance of harvesting license of forest produce for purposes of logs, timber, poles, firewood (for business), charcoal, and withies; (ii) receiving Harvesting Plan with the applications for the forest produce; (iii) receiving reports on the harvesting activities from the District Forest Officer or the District Forest Manager; (iv) cancelling if required a Forest Produce Allocation Certificate Full text English Website www.tfs.go.tz
