Abstract

This Regulation is divided into 4 parts as follows: 1 Levy; 2 when levy is payable; 3 Forest and range sub-account and 4 Sunset clause. This Regulation enacts section 1 of the Forest Stand Management Fund Act, which deals with stumpage levy. Section 1 states that by Regulation, the Lieutenant Governor in Council may impose a levy on stumpage bearing timber. This Regulation sets the amount of levy and states that the levy is payable when the stumpage is payable. The Regulation then goes on to prescribe that the levy is to be paid into the Forest and Range Sub-account of the Forest Stand Management Fund special account.
