Abstract

The present Regulation is made under the Forest Resources Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to planning that considers all forest users and includes opportunities for First Nations and public input on the management of forest resources. Moreover, it provides for stronger commitments to the forest industry in terms of secure tenure opportunities and a transparent and fair allocation process. The text consists of 88 sections divided into 11 Parts as follows: Definitions (1); Planning (2); Determination of annual allowable cut and annual limits (3); Tenure (4); Stumpage (5); Silviculture treatments (6); Forest resources roads (7); Appeals (8); Research and reporting (9); Prescribed forms and offences (10); Transition (11). Six Schedules are enclosed.
