Abstract

This Regulation enacts sections 151 (2) (b) and 151.1 of the Forest Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 157 and is divided into 2 parts. The first, establishing and listing forest regions and the second, establishing and listing forest districts. The Forest Act provides for the Lieutenant Governor in Council, by regulation, to "(a) establish an area of British Columbia as a forest district or forest region, (b) abolish, change the boundaries of or change the name of a forest district or forest region, and (c) consolidate 2 or more forest districts or 2 or more forest regions." A forest district so established is a forest district for the purposes of section 2 (1) (d) of the Ministry of Forests Act. A forest region so established is a forest region for the purposes of section 2 (1) (c) of the Ministry of Forests Act. Establishing the boundaries of forest districts or forest regions may be done by reference to maps that are available to the public and that are kept by the Ministry of Forests.
