All transport of timber, firewood, or other forest produce obtained form reserved forests, protected forests or waste lands, shall require a transport pass issued by the Divisional Forest Officer having jurisdiction in the area (rule 3). Certain exceptions are made with respect to classes of holders of forest use rights. No timber shall be transported on land between sunset and sunrise. A transport pass shall specify quantity of timber, etc., the owners of the goods transported, the places from which the gods were obtained, etc (rule 5).
