They do not apply to potatoes that are shown by the seller to be intended for export or for processing for the purposes of further sale. Regulation 4 requires potatoes for sale to meet standards of wholesomeness and cleanliness as specified in that regulation. Regulation 5 requires potatoes of various sizes to be sold separately. The Regulations prescribe packing requirements and also require certain information to be provided on packages or at point of sale (reg. 7). Regulation 8 sets out powers of authorized inspection officers.
