The requirements concern identification marking, packing and labelling, HACCP-based procedures, transport of live animals to the slaughterhouse, slaughtering, processing, storage and transport, etc. Food business operators operating slaughterhouses must ensure that the procedures that they have put in place are in accordance with the general requirements of the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations.
