The Authority shall be concerned with information regarding food and zoonotic diseases, advise the Minister on developments in domestic and European law relating to food and on matters relating to food with particular reference to nutrition; coordinate scientific cooperation with other European Union Member States in accordance with Council Directive 93/5/EEC and shall carry out research and other tasks assigned to it.
