These Regulations enter into force on 1 July 2010.
Abstract

These Regulations establish the following provisions: no person shall import, transport, distribute, store, sell, offer or expose for sale any fish in Sri Lanka, which contains Formaldehyde in levels exceeding 5 mg/kg (ppm). Every person importing fish into the country shall produce at the point of entry of such fish into the country, a certificate of conformity from the relevant National Authority of the country of origin or exporting country as the case may be, which states that the fish imported, conform to the levels specified in these Regulations.
