Abstract These Regulations, consisting of 9 sections and three Schedules, regulate the use of colouring substnces in food. The Regulations prohibit: the advertisement or use of any colouring substance as an ingredient in the preparation of food unless such colouring substance is a permitted colouring substance as specified in Tables I and II of Schedule I; the manufacture, import, sale, expose, storage, distribution, transportation or advertisement of any food with any colouring substance other than those specified in Table I and Table II of Schedule I; the use of any diluent for diluting a permitted colouring substance, other than a diluent specified in Table III of the Schedule I; the manufacture, import, sale, exposition, storage, distribution, transportation or advertisement of specific food products with any colouring substance except as provided for in regulation 6.
