These Regulations enter into force on 1 May 2007.
Abstract

These Regulations, consisting of 9 sections and three Schedules, regulate the use of colouring substnces in food. The Regulations prohibit: the advertisement or use of any colouring substance as an ingredient in the preparation of food unless such colouring substance is a permitted colouring substance as specified in Tables I and II of Schedule I; the manufacture, import, sale, expose, storage, distribution, transportation or advertisement of any food with any colouring substance other than those specified in Table I and Table II of Schedule I; the use of any diluent for diluting a permitted colouring substance, other than a diluent specified in Table III of the Schedule I; the manufacture, import, sale, exposition, storage, distribution, transportation or advertisement of specific food products with any colouring substance except as provided for in regulation 6. Schedules specify permitted colouring substances and diluents to be used in food
