Abstract

These Regulations lay down rules relative to hygiene in the food production chain and in particular regarding hygienic and construction standards for buildings and equipment used in connection with the preparation, packaging, storage and sale of food. The Regulations lay down some hygienic and sanitary requirements regarding the growing, harvesting, storage and other handling of raw materials used for food production. If a food plant is in such condition that any food in the premises may be exposed to contamination or deterioration, an authorized officer may serve a notice on a person who owns, operates or is in a charge of the plant ordering to correct the unhygienic situation or to not use the plant until conditions stated in the notice have been fulfilled.
