Abstract

This Act provides the grounds for handling food and raw material, the self-checking of an operator, and state supervision in order to ensure food safety and the compliance of food with other requirements. This Act applies to the handling of alcohol and water insofar as the handling of alcohol and water is not regulated by other legislation. The Act further provides for notification and licence obligation; requirements for food; general requirements for handling; self-checking of operator; presentation of information; conveyance of food to Estonia, import and export of food; overall organisation of state supervision; food supervision fee; sampling, analysis and laboratories; and liability.
