The authorized fishing gear shall be considered hooks, underwater fishing gear, crawfish traps, meshing nets, screen nets and trawl nets. The use of non-classified conceptually new fishing gear and fishing methods must be authorized by the minister of environmental protection. The following fishing methods shall be prohibited: (a) traditional raft fishing with nets (botanie); (b) use of electric current; (c) use of poisonous and narcotic substances; (d) use of unmarked fixed and drifting fishing gear; (e) use of scuba for underwater fishing and artificial lights; and (f) use harpoon without gun-harpoon for underwater fishing except for fishing of flatfish or brill. The Regulation establishes requirements for fishing gear marking and establishes year-round and provisional bans on some types of fisheries. Total ban on fisheries of sturgeon, grayling, asp and sheat fish is imposed for all the water basins and water reservoirs. Full text Russian Website www.striborg.ee
