It defines management measures including allocation of quotas for seasonal fishing for specified species (and adjustment of such measures); management of prohibited species bycatch; closures; seasons; gear limitations; Prohibited Species Donation Program (PSD) and relative permitting; monitoring and other equipment. Initial reserves are established for in the Gulf of Alaska for pollock, Pacific cod, flatfish, squids, octopuses, sharks, and sculpins, which are equal to 20 percent of the TACs for these species or species groups.
