Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999. The notice relates to Waihao Mātaitai Reserve, which is located northeast of Waimate in South Canterbury. The tangata whenua of the area that includes the mātaitai reserve are represented by Te Rūnanga o Waihao. Notice is given of the reappointment of 5 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve. The Minister for Primary Industries has made the reappointments at the request of Te Rūnanga o Waihao. The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.
