The notice enters into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
Abstract

This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. This notice applies to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana in the New Zealand fisheries waters (except South Island fisheries waters). It relates to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by the Potaka Marae Committee and Te Whānau a Kauaetangohia Hapū. The area/rohe moana is at Potikirua Point on the East Cape. Notice is given of the appointment of 6 Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries made the appointments at the request of Te Whānau a Kauaetangohia Hapū. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
