Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua of Rongomaiwahine, represented by the Mahia Maori Committee. The area/ rohe moana is an area from Paritu to Waikokopu at Mahia. Notice is given of the appointment of a replacement Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The appointee replaces the late Valletta Wairau, whose appointment was cancelled in 2012 (see the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 1) 2012 (Gazette 2012, p 1310)). The Minister for Primary Industries made the replacement appointment at the request of the Mahia Maori Committee. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
