Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Ngāti Wakarara and Ngāti Hau. The area/rohe moana is an area from Mawhai Point to Marau Point on the East Cape, and extends approximately 5 nautical miles offshore. Notice is given of the appointment of 2 Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister for Primary Industries made the appointment at the request of Ngāti Wakarara and Ngāti Hau. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
