Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by the Hokotehi Moriori Trust. The area/rohe moana is all the fisheries waters (including inland waters) enclosed by a line with each point being 200 nautical miles from the mean high-water mark of all islands in the Chatham Islands Group. Notice is given of the appointment of 4 additional Tchakat Kitaki (Moriori dialect for Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki) for the area/rohe moana. The Minister for Primary Industries made the appointments on 30 September 2016 at the request of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
