Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999. Notice is given that a mātaitai reserve (to be known as Ōtākou Mātaitai Reserve) has been declared under regulation 20 of the regulations (see the Fisheries (Declaration of Ōtākou Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2016). Ōtākou Mātaitai Reserve is located in South Island fisheries waters in outer Otago Harbour. The tangata whenua of the area that includes the reserve are represented by Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou. Notice is given of the appointment of 5 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve. The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.
