Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999. The notice relates to Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō Mātaitai Reserve, which is in the inner part of Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō. The tangata whenua of the area that includes the mātaitai reserve are represented by Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke (Rāpaki) Rūnanga. Notice is given of the declaration of the mātaitai reserve and the appointment of 4 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve. The Minister for Primary Industries made the appointments at the request of Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke (Rāpaki) Rūnanga. The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.
