This Subpart of Part 665 of Title 50 of the Federal Code of Regulations concerns fishing in the Pacific Remote Island Area (PRIA) fishery management area, i.e. the EEZ seaward of Palmyra Atoll, Kingman Reef, Jarvis Island, Baker Island, Howland Island, Johnston Atol and Wake Island, Pacific Remote Island Areas. Except as provided in §665.934, fishing is prohibited in all no-take Marine Protected Areas as specified. They also concern coral reef ecosystem fisheries (including fishing for specified shark species) and designate a management area for a specific management regime. Management measures include restrictions of use of gear, compliance with the Fishery Ecosystem Plan (FEP) and related permitting. Other matters of these Regulations include management of crustacean fishery and precious coral fisheries.
