Abstract

This Ordinance provides for the regulation, conservation and management of the fisheries of the Falkland Islands. It consists of 21 sections that deal with fishing prohibited without a licence (sec.4), notification of fish on board by fishing boats entering fishing waters (sec.5), transhipment and export of fish prohibited without a licence (sec.7), Manner of exercising of licensing powers (sec.8), Director of Fisheries and Fisheries Protection Officers (sec.9), Release of boat or thing if no proceedings instituted (sec.11), Security for release of fishing boat (sec.12), Offences, penalties and proceedings (sec.15) etc.
