The amendment concerns the replacement of a paragraph concerning the settlement of disputes between Mauritius and France concerning Tromelin and its surrounding waters, including its EEZ. The Regulations affirm the sovereignty of Mauritius over Tromelin and its waters, and mentions International Court of Justice and International Tribunal for the Law of Sea pronunciations on the matter.
