Fisheries (Akaroa Harbour Taiapure) Order, 2015. Country/Territory New Zealand Document type Regulation Date 2015 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Fisheries, Sea Keyword Marine fisheries Protected fishing area Fishery management and conservation Coastal zone management Harbour Geographical area Asia and the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, Oceania, South Pacific Entry into force notes This Order comes into force on 20 December 2015. Abstract This Order, consisting of 4 sections and one Schedule, replaces the Fisheries (Akaroa Harbour Taiapure) Order 2006 under which the Akaroa Harbour taiapure was previously constituted. The Order expands the area of the Akaroa Harbour taiapure-local fishery to include the area between Elephant Head and Manukatahi Stream, known as the Dan Rogers area. The inclusion of this area in the taiapure is consistent with the recommendation of a Māori Land Court tribunal. The Order also adjusts some of the boundaries of the taiapure to align with adjoining reserves and to correct the co-ordinates. The New Zealand fisheries waters (being estuarine or littoral coastal waters) described in the Schedule are a taiapure-local fishery.
