Abstract This Circular, consisting of 12 sections and two Annexes, establishes the traceability system for wild-caught and farmed fish and other aquatic products. It covers the following business operations: a) Wild-caught (fishing boats or vessels; landing at ports, buying stations and auction markets; pre-processing, cold storage and processing plants; transporters and dry warehouses; and, traders, shippers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers). Aquaculture (fish feeding producers; hatcheries and breeders; wild fry suppliers; nurseries; aquaculture/growing farms; buying station/auction market; live fish transporters; pre-processing and processing plants; transporters, cold stores and dry warehouses; traders, shippers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers). This Circular shall apply to all Fishery and Aquatic Business Operators (FABOs) directly or indirectly involved in the production and processing of fishery and aquatic products for export, provided, that the Department, through subsequent regulations, shall coordinate with other regulatory agencies and the Local Government Unit (LGUs) in the application of this Circular for Fisheries and Aquaculture products intended for domestic consumption.
