Abstract

The objects of this Act are to conserve native fish species and their habitats; to manage sustainably the fisheries of the ACT by applying the principles of ecologically sustainable development mentioned in the Environment Protection Act 1997, section 2 (2); to provide high quality and viable recreational fishing; and to cooperate with other Australian jurisdictions in sustaining fisheries and protecting native fish species. Part 3 deals with Fishing closures and declarations (including: fish of prohibited size or weigh and fishing gear); Part 4 deals with Kinds of licences.
