Abstract

This Act concerns the conservation and use of fish and wildlife resources in Ontario, it consists of 114 sections and is divided into ten Parts. Part I covers issues related to the interpretation and application of the Act, Part II regulates hunting, trapping, fishing and related activities. Part III is dedicated to live wildlife and fish, Part IV to the sale, purchase and transport of fish and wildlife, Part V to the relation of the Act with laws of others jurisdiction. Part VI is dedicated to licences and other authorization and related procedures and Part VII to administration of the Act. Part VIII covers enforcement, Part IX offences and penalties and Part X regulations. The Act is completed by 11 schedules that list, respectively, furbearing animals, game mammals, game birds, game reptiles, game amphibians, specially protected mammals, specially protected birds (raptors), specially protected birds (other than raptors), specially protected reptiles, specially protected amphibians and specially protected invertebrates.
