Abstract

This Chapter of Division 4 of the Fish and Game Code of California provides that it shall be unlawful to take any marine mammal (sea otters, whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, and sea lions) except in accordance with provisions of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 or provisions of Title 50 of the Code of Federal Regulations, or pursuant to Regulations to be adopted by the Fish and Game Commission in accordance with Federal law governing marine mammals and the taking thereof. The Chapter also seeks to restrict the introduction of cat litter into marine water so as to protect sea otters.
