Abstract

This Chapter of Division 4 of the Fish and Game Code of California provides rules for the movement of all dead wild birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. It applies also to live mollusks and crustaceans that are transported for purposes other than placement in the waters of California but not to animals imported for purposes of aquaculture under Division 12. Birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, or amphibians shall not be imported or possessed in California unless all of specified requirements are met. One of the requirements is that the animals were legally taken and legally possessed outside of this state. Various other restrictions are placed by this Chapter on the shipment into or out of California of various fish species.
