Abstract

This Chapter of Division 3 of the Fish and Game Code of California declares it to be unlawful to import, transport, possess, or release alive into the state of California, except under a revocable, non-transferable permit as provided in this Chapter and the Regulations pertaining thereto, any wild animal or fish of specified species. The Fish and Game Commission may designate wild animals which may be possessed without a permit. The Commission, in cooperation with the Department of Food and Agriculture, shall adopt Regulations governing both the entry, importation, possession, transportation, keeping, confinement, or release of any and all wild animals that will be or that have been imported into this state pursuant to this chapter, and the possession of all other wild animals.
