The Regulations also stipulate that no person shall catch fish from a vessel for the purpose of marketing, unless the vessel meets the prescribed requirements. No person shall import, export or prepare fish for export without a licence or certificate, as the case may be, issued under these Regulation. The Minister may issue to any person a certificate to permit such a person to operate an establishment for importing or exporting fish or preparing it for export. The Chief Fisheries Officer may issue to any person who may not hold a certified establishment licence, a licence to prepare for export or to export fish prepared in a certified establishment. The Minister may enter into an offshore inspection arrangement with one or more foreign governments, government agencies or trade organisations where he or she is satisfied, based on verification by the Competent Authority— (a) that the legal requirements, fish inspection systems and infrastructure for preparing fish for export in that country and that fish imported into Grenada meets the requirements of the Laws of Grenada; or (b) that any establishments in that country meet the requirements of these Regulations for certified establishments and that fish exported from those establishments to Grenada meets those requirements. Every person who exports fish from an establishment shall keep a record of the name and address of the person to whom, and the date on which, the fish is shipped from the establishment. The Regulations set out various (hygiene) requirements for the landing, handling, transport, storage etc. of fish and fish products. Full text English
