The present Regulations enter into force on 5 November 2007.
Abstract

The present Regulations enact subsection 25(3) of the First Nations Land Management Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the establishment of a Land Registry for first nations. Section 2 establishes that the Register shall be maintained in an office located in the National Capital Region to be known as the First Nations Land Registry. The text - consisting of 34 sections – deals with the following matters: abstracts, application to register or record documents, grounds for refusing registration or recording, registration or recording of documents, effect of registration and transition to priority system. The text consists of 25 paragraphs and 1 Schedule.
