Abstract This Law consisting of 22 articles aims to: guarantee safety and compliance of the food circulating in the Emirates; ensure the controls on the different stages of the food chain; protect the consumer from the possible harms related to food; protect the consumer from unhealthy or adulterated food; guarantee safety of the circulating fodder; and facilitate the food trade. The provisions of this Law apply to installations, shipments entering or crossing the territory, food at all stages of the food chain. Art.6 concerns health and precautionary measures; art.7 deals with permits and registration, art.8 regards the food and feed import; art.9 lists the obligations of the owners of food installations; art.10 deals with the requirements for fodder establishments; art.11 concerns control and inspections; arts.12 and 13 regulate the circulation of food and fodder.
