Abstract Production cooperative (cooperative association) is a voluntary association organized on the basis of membership for common production and other economic activity based upon personal working and other participation and unification of property shares of its members (participants). Statutory documents may envisage participation of legal persons. Cooperative is a legal person – commercial organization. The Federal Law consists of 9 Sections that contain 29 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-3) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 4-6) regards setting up a cooperative. Section 3 (arts. 7-8) establishes the rights and the duties of the members of a cooperative. Section 4 (arts. 9-13) regards the property of a cooperative. Section 5 (arts.14-18) regards management of a cooperative. Section 6 (arts. 19-22) regards regulation of labour relations in a cooperative. Section 7 (arts. 23-25) regards interrelations between cooperatives and associations of cooperatives. Section 8 (arts. 26-27) regards reorganization and liquidation of cooperatives.
