This Federal Law enters into force on 1 July 2017.
Abstract

Article 21 of the Federal Law No. 149-FZ on seed growing shall be supplemented with the following wording: “Import to the territory of the Russian Federation of and use planting seeds of plants whose genetic program is modified with the use of genetic engineering techniques and that contain genetic engineering material, the introduction of which cannot be the result of natural processes, with the exception of sowing ( planting) of such seeds during for expert examination and research work, shall be prohibited."
