Abstract

Regulations to provide rules for hunting in Botswana, to control hunting and to provide for enforcement of rules. No person shall hunt an animal specified in the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Schedule without a licence obtained from a licensing officer (reg. 4). Small game licenses shall be granted to citizens only, whereas special game licenses may be issued to persons specified in section 4 (2) of the fauna Conservation Act. The Schedule specified also the number of licenses that may be issued to each person. Single game licenses require a permit to hunt (reg. 14). Regulation 16 concerns hunting quotas. Section 17 concerns hunting for elephants or buffalos. Other provisions concern sale of trophies and presentation of trophies for inspection or registration. Penalties are prescribed.
