Abstract The Act sets regulations on farming in Greenland, which may be exercised only by individuals who have residence and tax-paying status in the country, and/or by companies having at least 2/3 of capital owned by the above-mentioned individuals. It sets rules on livestock, their well-being and their production (including slaughtering and feeding). For environmental purposes, the Act sets regulations in the reduction animals destined to particular grazing areas. A monitoring committee ensuring adherence to the Act’s rules is established in each municipality where farming activities takes place.
