Abstract

The purpose of the present Act is: a) to foster thriving and resilient farm and food economies throughout Manitoba; b) to increase access to, and awareness of the availability of, Manitoba food and other products of farming carried on in Manitoba; c) to increase awareness of agriculture, including the diversity of Manitoba farms; d) to encourage farmers and agri-processors to capture and develop new market opportunities; and e) to increase international awareness of Manitoba food and other products of farming carried on in Manitoba. Section 3 establishes that in each year, the week beginning on the third Monday in September is to be known as Manitoba Farm and Food Awareness Week. The text consists of 10 sections.
