This Executive Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum. This Regulation, consisting of 11 articles divided into three Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is responsible for: assessing the performance of the Ministry and the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Resources Sector, as well as proposing development policies and strategies on the following areas: a) Treatment of rocks and minerals; b) Transport, storage, distribution and commercialization of rocks, minerals, crude petroleum and its derivatives; e) Social responsibility; d) Licensing for distribution and trade of rocks, minerals, petroleum derivatives and biofuels; e) Exploration and exploitation of mineral resources; j) Supervision and control of geological, mining and oil activities; g) Allocation of exploration licenses and petroleum concessions; h) National, regional or multilateral matters for the development of activities in the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Sector; i) Perspectives and programmes of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Sector, with a view to the sustainable, balanced and fair development of the economy; l) Refining of crude oil, treatment of natural gas and petrochemicals; k) international cooperation in the geological, mining, oil and biofuel sectors; etc.
