Abstract This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Institute for Water Resources (INARH). This Regulation, consisting of 5 Chapters and 2 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned water institution, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Water, is entitled: to prepare the National policy of water resources, to control over its implementation, monitoring and evaluation; to guarantee water resources planning, aiming at its efficient and sustainable use; to establish plans, programmes and projects for the development, protection, conservation, preservation, valorisation and efficient use of water resources; to design and implement the National Plan of Water Resources, according to General Development Plan of each Hydrographical Basin, etc. Annexes specify composition and duties of this water institution.
