Abstract This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Direction of Livestock and Agriculture within the Ministry of Agriculture. This Regulation, consisting of 3 Chapters and 2 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned National Direction, entitled to: design policies and strategies in agricultural and livestock sectors, propose development policies for these sectors; protect animal and plant species against pests and diseases within the national territory; guarantee the technological assistance to plant and animal products conservation and processing industries; control agricultural and livestock activities according to the existing legislation; guide and implement soil protecting measures against the use of unauthorised fertilizers, vaccinations and drugs.
