This Executive Decree enters into force immediately.
Abstract

This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Direction of Mines within the Ministry of Geology, Mining and Industry. This Regulation, consisting of 3 Chapters and 1 Annex, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to: control the implementation of the policies on mines and promote the rational and sustainable exploitation of mineral resources; to coordinate, supervise any activity related to the exploitation, benefit, transport and trade of mineral resources within the National territory; to control the normal functioning of the authorized agencies to develop any mining activity, carry out inspection on the fulfilment of technical norms applicable to the mining industry to the environment; to mining projects, creating adequate conditions for attracting investments; carry out controls on the diversified sustainable exploitation of mining resources, etc.
