Abstract This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Direction of Petroleum and Biofuel (DNPB) within the Ministry of Oil, according to Presidential Decree No. 33/11 (repealed by Presidential Decree No. 239/12). The Regulation, consisting of 4 Chapters and 2 Annexes, specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled: to design and propose the National policy basis on oil and biofuel; to elaborate the development programme on oil and biofuel exploitation, according to the National Plan; to study and propose a legislation regulating the activities in this sector; to control the implementation of such activities; to carry out research on hydrocarbons, production, processing and trade of crude oil and natural gas, storage, transport and supply of derivatives, including bio fuel.
