Abstract This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Water Directorate (DNA) of the Ministry of Energy and Water. This Regulation, consisting of 9 articles divided into four Chapters and two Tables, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned DNA, as a executive service whose objective aims to the research, preparation, execution and monitoring of water supply and wastewater, water resources and wastewater sanitation policies. In particular, The DNA is responsible for: preparing and coordinating the national water supply and sanitation policy, ensuring its execution and monitoring; monitor the national water resources policy, to be prepared by the National Institute of Water Resources, and follow-up; coordinating integrated plans, programmes and projects for water supply and wastewater sanitation, ensuring their execution and monitoring; establishing the national and municipal registry of water supply and wastewater sanitation networks; coordinating the establishment of norms and regulations relating to water quality, water treatment and disposal standards, within the scope of water supply and sanitation systems, etc. Full text Portuguese Website www.legis-palop.org
