Abstract This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the National Directorate of Electric Energy (DNEE) as the direct executive service of the Ministry of Energy and Water, whose object is the planning, study, design and monitoring of the implementation of policies in the context of production, transport, distribution and use of electrical energy. The Regulation, consisting of four Chapters and two Tables, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the DNEE, entitled to perform the activities established in article 17 of Presidential Decree No. 223/20 of 28 August, namely: a) Participate in the elaboration of the national energy policy, as well as monitor its execution; b) Participate in the elaboration of the Energy programme; c) Promote the collection of statistical data; d) Promote the efficiency and rationalization of the use of electrical energy; e) Participate in the implementation of the institutional model defined for carrying out electricity production and distribution activities; f) Participate in the organization of the processes for awarding concessions and granting licenses; g) Participate in studies and in defining programmes for the rehabilitation and expansion of the infrastructure of the public electricity system, etc. Full text Portuguese Website www.legis-palop.org
