Abstract

These Regulations amend the European Communities Environmental Objectives (Freshwater Pearl Mussel) Regulations 2009 by replacing the First Schedule, which defines to which areas the principal Regulations apply. The Regulations shall apply to the habitats of the freshwater pearl mussel populations here listed that are within the boundaries of a site notified in a candidate list of European sites under the European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011 or designated as a Special Area of Conservation under Regulations made for the purpose of Article 4(4) of the EU Habitats Directive.
